what is the lisa ward scholarship?

Here at Engenius Tuition, we believe in the power of education to transform lives. Providing tailored tuition that builds lifelong learners is at the heart of our business. We're committed to nurturing a love for learning and instilling the confidence to tackle any academic challenge. As such, every September, we award one child the Lisa Ward Scholarship; an incredible opportunity to become a part of our tuition family,  through a fully-funded, year-long tuition space.

what does the lisa ward scholarship cover?

The Lisa Ward Scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees, including all resources, for a full academic year - September to July. Tuition is on a 1:1, weekly, face-to-face basis. Tuition can be for KS1-KS4 English, KS1-KS4 Maths, or for the 11+, but must remain the same type of tuition for the duration of the school year. In the case of 11+ tuition, all mock exams, summer masterclasses, and assessment resources are fully funded too.

The history of the lisa ward scholarship

Lisa Ward is a former tutee who battled a degenerative illness for many years of her life, causing gradual loss of her mobility, sight and hearing. Lisa defied odds. She transcended her own boundaries and successfully passed her English and Maths GCSEs. In her own words, she loved to keep challenging herself, both academically and as a person. By continually learning and growing, she opened many doors that were firmly closed. Engenius Tuition are proud to have consistently sat alongside her, supporting her journey to success. Moving and supporting each child beyond their limits to achieve their own academic success, is our mission. Heartbreakingly, Lisa passed away in 2021, but we are grateful to be able to offer the Lisa Ward Scholarship in her memory, supporting a child that also seeks to build their future; a child Lisa would be proud of us supporting.

what is the selection criteria?

We're looking for a child who loves to learn, grabs hold of every opportunity life presents them with, and is continually challenging themselves. The chosen scholar must be able to commit to a weekly slot. Full commitment is necessary for the opportunity to run for the duration of the year. If the commitment waivers, the scholarship will be withdrawn and another scholar will be given the opportunity. Please do not apply if you cannot make this commitment.
